THE TEMPLE OF SNEAKER CULTURE
Legit Sneaker House in the heart of Valencia transforms a traditional generic shoe shop into a landmark for the city´s sneaker culture. Working on an existing space, we’ve turned the ground floor of an historical building into a sneaker museum with exclusive models for collectionists.
➀ AN ALTAR FOR COLLECTORS
To highlight the exclusivity of a product as popular as particular in terms of taste, brands and models, we turned the shopping experience into a cult activity, creating in the space an exclusive museum; the house of an obsessed collector exhibiting the sneakers.
➁ A TREASURE AMONG RUINS
We went for a completely run-down look to show the contrast of someone who can live in total chaos because is only obsessed with collecting and accumulating sneakers of all shapes and colours out of pure fetishism.
Located on the ground floor of a modernist building from the early 20th century facing the City Hall, the store is a unique combination of old-world charm in the facade and contemporary aesthetics in its interiors.
➂ DISCLOSING THE SECRETS OF A HOUSE
Beneath the building, materials and furniture elements suggest the layout of a fake house in which the sneakers could be distributed. Different types of flooring, lights embedded in the floor and tiled areas recreate the kitchen, bathroom or living room.
The dilapidated appearance is achieved by breaking the partitions of the raised walls and leaving the bricks and debris visible. Exposed structures propping up the house also serve to display the models.
Neon signs on the rough walls, construction-like grey colours and the bright yellow, green, and red lights all give off that urban sneaker style vibe.
