DESIGNING LOCAL EXPERIENCES FOR GLOBAL GUESTS
As part of its business strategy, B&B Hotels needed a design partner to support the brand expansion by creating or refurbishing a series of halls across different cities in Spain and Portugal. Over six years, we helped devise, develop and execute more than 15 projects of diverse personality types following a design and materiality inspired by the characteristics of each enclave.
➀ SPACES MADE FOR TODAY’S GUEST
Although B&B Hotels is a global brand, their strategy is based in developing unique proposals adapted to the characteristics of each location. Following these premises, we worked on the implementation of different halls designed according to the local needs of various types of users, using the singularities of each enclave as a common thread.
➁ COMPREHENSIVE AND UNIQUE EXPERIENCES
In every detail of their materiality and shape, every hall introduces its own personality following a design stripped of accessories and exclusively focused on the user’s needs. Urban-inspired functional spaces with a high degree of comfort and design including all the necessary services for the guests to live different experiences in a single tour. As a natural extension of the city, the different concepts are organically integrated into the characteristics of each location; bringing freshness and a warm local feeling within a global proposal.
➂ B&B HOTELS GUIMARAES
A journey that begins in a hall. Through the design of a powerful entrance evoking an interchanger, the new B&B Hotels Guimaraes in Portugal introduces a new urban stop, an open space for a break before moving on to the next areas and experiences. The design also incorporates an original sustainable coating made with 1,723 kilos of 100% recycled marine plastic.
B&B HOTELS JEREZ
As a natural extension within the famous Chapín stadium designed by Cruz y Ortiz Arquitectos, this immersive experience takes advantage of the architectural morphology to offer a different proposal.
Materials and elements visually connecting the interior with the exterior highlight the undeniable bond of the hotel with its surroundings and the city, generating a subtle and enriching coexistence.
B&B HOTELS GAIA
A role playing game. A board where each movement proposes an experience. Using a purely playful arrangement, our design for this hotel in Portugal turns geometry into different ways of living through multifunctional and interchangeable furniture pieces offering immersive and unforgettable uses.
B&B HOTELS LLEIDA
Based on the singularity of a staircase as the central element of the space, the design of this hall introduces a series of curved planes intersecting each other to generate three well-differentiated environments.
